Day 1 of the Sweet Auburn Music Fest is officially over and the highlight reel from our time there has officially been uploaded to YouTube.
Its been about 5 years since we attended the Sweet Auburn Music Festival but not much has changed. The festival takes place takes place at 320 Irwin Street in Atlanta Georgia, right up the street from the MLK Memorial. It stretches about a quarter mile and is lined with vendors who sell food, jewelry, clothes, and more. At the end of both sides of the festival sits a stage where live performances took place.
The festival has something to offer for the entire family. A drive into Atlanta always requires a bathroom break – but we couldn’t make it to the porter potty without navigating through the kids fun area strategically placed right before it. This area had a bouncy house, hula-hoops, cornhole and more. My daughter spent an hour there. In the time she was there, I saw several people in the crowd brace the stage to participate in stage performances that involved karaoke and dance. These acts were followed up by booked performers including singer and songwriter JaaLa
Then there was the unexpected – a fashion walk! A fashion designer, whose name we did not get had a fashion walk in two separate locations of the festival. It was even more of a surprise to see the number of designs actually available. To the point where multiple sets took place during our time at the event.
